Here are some common questions our clients ask, however, during your appointment, we can discuss your specific needs.
Medicare has several parts: Part A (Hospital Insurance), Part B (Medical Insurance), Part C (Medicare Advantage, an all-in-one alternative to A and B provided by private companies), and Part D (Prescription Drug Coverage).
You're generally eligible to enroll in Medicare during your Initial Enrollment Period (IEP), which is a 7-month window: 3 months before, the month of, and 3 months after your 65th birthday. Enrolling on time helps avoid penalties.
Medicare Advantage plans are offered by private insurance companies approved by Medicare. They provide all your Part A and Part B benefits, and often include Part D, plus additional benefits like vision, dental, or hearing, all within one plan.
Original Medicare (Parts A & B) generally does not cover prescription drugs. To get prescription drug coverage, you need to enroll in a Medicare Part D plan (stand-alone) or choose a Medicare Advantage plan (Part C) that includes drug coverage.
